Meet Laura
Are you living with unresolved trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or major life changes? Maybe you're feeling stuck in a storm of negativity and pain with no ray of hope in sight. You are not alone. Counseling is a healthy way to uncover the past, embrace the present, and pursue your best path forward. Beginning this journey today is the perfect first step in creating the life that you want.
Laura's clinical experience and areas of focus include, but are not limited to: trauma (of any form), narcissistic abuse, depression, anxiety, body image, personality disorders, attachment and relationship issues, identity development, and major life transitions. Laura uses an integrative approach, which means she tailors therapy in a way to fit each individual. Some common theories she utilizes are: Integrated Attachment Theory (IAT), Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Theory (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is a specialized trauma processing therapy in which Laura is trained and can integrate into therapy.
Laura earned a master’s degree in counseling from Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon in 2017 and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2013.
Laura has a particular interest in helping process thoughts and feelings related to past traumatic experiences. As Dr. Gabor Mate so wisely states, “Trauma is not what happens to you, it’s what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you.” Laura's passion is to walk alongside others as they work to understand their story, discover the wounds that life has created, and experience healing through the therapeutic relationship.
