Most people will experience trauma in their lifetime, whether it’s a car accident, abuse or neglect, toxic relationships, the death of a loved one, physical assault, exposure to the violence of war, or a natural disaster. Trauma comes in many forms.
So much of the anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, body image issues, substance abuse, etc. that we struggle with are related to unresolved thoughts and emotions connected to past experiences. The support and guidance of a therapist is fundamental to healing from trauma.

Re-experiencing

- Avoinding trauma-related thoughts or feelings
- Avoiding trauma-related external reminders
Negative Mood and Thoughts
- Inability to recall key features of the trauma
- Overly negative thoughts and assumptions about oneself or
the world
- Exaggerated blame of self or others for causing the trauma
- Negative affect
- Decreased interest in activities
- Feeling isolated
- Difficulty experiencing positive affect
Hyperarousal
- Irritability or aggression
- Risky or destructive behavior
- Hypervigilance
- Heightened startle reaction
- Difficulty concentrating
- Difficulty sleeping
